The Most Popular Floor We Install, and the Easiest to Get Wrong

LVP has earned its popularity. Today's luxury vinyl looks like real wood, shrugs off kids and pets, and many products are fully waterproof. But LVP is thin and flexible, so it shows whatever is underneath it. Every bump telegraphs through, every dip lets the click joints flex, and that's how seams separate, planks click when you walk, and floors fail long before they should.

Manufacturers publish strict flatness requirements for exactly this reason. We meet them. We level the subfloor where it needs it before the first plank goes down, which keeps your floor tight, quiet, and covered by its product warranty.

Luxury Vinyl We Install

  • Luxury vinyl plank (LVP)

Wood-look planks in every width, length and tone.

  • Luxury vinyl tile (LVT)

Stone- and tile-look vinyl that's warmer and softer underfoot than ceramic, and a great fit for bathrooms and laundry rooms.

  • Click-together and glue-down

We install whichever method the product and your space call for.

How We Install LVP

  1. Removal and disposal of your old flooring (included).
  2. Furniture moving as needed.
  3. Subfloor prep: we fill and level low spots, grind or sand high spots, and fix loose or squeaky areas.
  4. Moisture testing over concrete, plus the right vapor barrier or underlayment for the product.
  5. Installation: staggered seams, clean scribe cuts around cabinets and door casings, proper expansion gaps.
  6. Transitions, trim and stairs, then cleanup and a final walkthrough.

LVP Flooring Installation FAQs

Is LVP really waterproof?

Many LVP products are waterproof, meaning the planks won't swell from water. Water can still get under any floor at the edges and seams, so proper installation and quick cleanup of big spills still matter.

Why does my subfloor need leveling for LVP?

LVP is thin and follows every contour underneath it. Uneven subfloors cause seams to separate and joints to break down. Leveling to the manufacturer's spec prevents that and protects your warranty.

Can LVP go over my existing floor?

Sometimes, over a flat, well-bonded hard surface like sheet vinyl, depending on the product. Carpet always comes out. We'll check during your estimate and tell you what's best.

Is LVP good for dogs?

It's one of the best choices for pets: scratch-resistant, water-resistant, and easy to clean.

How long does LVP installation take?

Many single-room installs take a day. Whole-home projects or floors needing significant leveling take longer, and you get a timeline with your estimate.
